Brief History |
Charminar
is the most striking structures of Hyderabad. This imposing structure marked
by four tall minars, of 56 M height was completed in 1591-92 CE (AH 1000) by
Mohammad Quli Qutb Shah, of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. The architectural beauty
of the edifice lies in its plan 30 m. square with four imposing arches; each
of a span of 11 m surmounted by terraced balconies in receding series. The
first floor has corridor all around and a beautiful mosque is located on its
second floor. Extensive stucco decoration is its characteristic feature. |
